 ABC'S MORTON DEAN TO ADDRESS PUBLIC RELATIONS CONFERENCE
 DETROIT, March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- ABC news correspondent Morton


Dean, a veteran of presidential campaigns from Nixon to Bush, will be the keynote speaker at the first-ever statewide conference of the Michigan chapters of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) being held May 7 and 8 at Novi's Sheraton Oaks Hotel.
 Registration for the conference is open to all professional communicators.
 Dean, a network news correspondent for the past 30 years, will take a detailed look at the candidates, primaries, caucuses and conventions that make up the '92 presidential race.
 Joining Dean for the conference will be Steve Haworth, Ph.D., vice president of public relations for the news division of Turner Broadcasting, and Jean Kilbourne, Ed.D., internationally known media critic and author and lecturer on women's issues.
 Haworth will speak on the expanding role of Cable News Network (CNN) in what has become a media race to provide instant information. Haworth supervises all press materials and is corporate spokesperson for CNN, Headline News and CNN Radio.
 Kilbourne, known for provocative lectures on women's images in advertising, will discuss whether media images reflect society.
 The two-day conference includes presentations on crisis communication, counseling top management, environmental public relations, total quality in communications, low-cost research and business development for agencies.
 National and state vendors will display their latest communications services and technologies.
 "We are excited about this first-ever statewide conference which offers great national and local speakers on issues of particular interest to professional communicators," said Bob Parsons, PRSA Central Michigan president and conference chairperson.
