5 March 2010 - Swiss-Swedish engineering group ABB Ltd (VTX: ABBN) (STO: ABB) said today it will supply medium-voltage power equipment to Irish grid operator ESB Networks Ltd under a four-year frame deal worth USD12m.

The contract covers ABB's 24-kV SafeRing ring main units (RMUs) for the upgrade of ESB's secondary distribution network.

Previously, the Swiss-Swedish major has completed a similar assignment for this customer.

ESB Networks is part of Irish semi-state company Electricity Supply Board (ESB).
