 ABB WINS $5.4 MILLION CONTRACT TO UPRATE GEORGIA HYDRO-GENERATORS
 STAMFORD, Conn., July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Asea Brown Boveri Inc. (ABB) announced today that one of its units has received a $5.4 million contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to uprate two hydro- generators at the Allatoona power plant in northwestern Georgia.
 ABB Hydro Power Division will replace the generator stator windings and excitation systems. The equipment was originally commissioned in 1949. The plant, on the Etowah River, is administered by the Mobile, Alabama, District of the Corps.
 ABB Hydro Power Division, of Littleton, Colo., supplies turnkey hydroelectric power plants, new generators and retrofitted/upgraded generators and related systems. Asea Brown Boveri Inc., headquartered in Stamford, Conn., provides products and services for the power, process, industrial automation, environmental control, mass transit and other markets. The company and its subsidiaries have sales of approximately $5.5 billion and some 29,000 employees in the United States.
