ABB RECEIVES $40 MILLION CONTRACT FOR COGENERATION PLANT IN NEW JERSEY

 STAMFORD, Conn., March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- ABB Inc. announced today that three of its Power Plant Systems businesses will supply power generation components for a 120 MW cogeneration faci?ty to be built in Freehold, N.J. The value of the contract to ABB is approximately $40 million. Freehold Cogeneration Associates (FCA) is the developer and owner of the project.
 ABB will provide a single-shaft power train with a wrap-around performance guarantee covering electrical output and fuel consumption, as well as air and noise emissions. The elements of the power train are: an 85 MW gas turbine and a steam turbine from ABB Power Generation Inc., headquartered in North Brunswick, N.J.; a heat recovery steam generator supplied by ABB Combustion Engineering Systems of Windsor, Conn.; and a control system from ABB Power Plant Controls, also of Windsor.
 The plant is expected to be in commercial operation in late 1995. It will supply process steam to Nestle Beverage Co.'s freeze-dried coffee operation and electricity for Jersey Central Power & Light.
 FCA is a limited partnership consisting of subsidiaries of Constellation Energy, Inc., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Baltimore Gas & Electric, and Advanced Power Systems.
