 AAR SELECTS JOEL D. SPUNGIN AS NEW DIRECTOR
 ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- AAR Corp. announced


today the selection of Joel D. Spungin as a member of its board of directors. Mr. Spungin is chairman and chief executive officer of United Stationers Inc., the nation's largest wholesale supplier of office products. He has been United Stationers' chief executive officer since 1987.
 Ira A. Eichner, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of AAR, commented on the appointment saying, "We feel most fortunate that Mr. Spungin has chosen to become a member of our board. His extensive experience in the development of a company will add significantly to our leadership."
