AAR AND LUFTHANSA SIGN INVENTORY SUPPLY AND MANAGEMENT CONTRACT

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill., March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- AAR Corp. (NYSE: AIR) confirmed today that one of its operating units, AAR Aircraft Turbine Center Inc., has singed a five-year, multi-million- dollar exclusive agreement with Lufthansa German Airlines, one of the world's premier airlines and technical maintenance organizations.
Under the contract, AAR will provide a customized inventory supply and management program for certain aircraft and engine parts required by the carrier in the course of its maintenance activities on its own behalf and for third-party customers; AAR's responsibility includes delivery of the critical parts on a just-in-time basis to the carrier's production line. AAR will operate a bonded warehouse staffed by its own personnel on the airline's premises with online access to AAR's database for worldwide parts sourcing.
David P. Storch, president and chief operating officer, said, "There is a growing trend among airlines toward forming partnerships with companies that can provide special support services allowing the carriers to concentrate on their fundamental business of passenger transportation. We are pleased that Lufthansa has selected AAR as its partner to assist in the development of this efficient and cost effective inventory management program; we feel our selection was based upon the success of similar management programs with other international carriers in Europe and the Pacific Rim."
AAR Corp. is a leading supplier of aerospace/aviation products and services. The company primarily supplies parts and equipment, performs technical services, and manufactures products for the aviation industry in the United States and abroad.
