AAMA ISSUES PRELIMINARY NEW TRUCK SALES FIGURES FOR JULY

 WASHINGTON, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Franchised dealers of truck manufacturers sold 470,193 units in July, the highest sales total for that month on record, according to a preliminary report issued today by the American Automobile Manufacturers Association.
 Retail sales for July were 20.6 percent above sales for the month a year ago. There were 26 selling days in this period, the same as a year ago.
 July sales were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5,207,000, a 24.2 percent increase from the July 1992 seasonally adjusted rate of 4,193,000 units.
