AAI'S MURPHY RESIGNS

 HUNT VALLEY, Md., April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- AAI Corporation and its parent company, United Industrial Corporation (NYSE: UIC), today announced the resignation of T.V. Murphy, president and CEO of AAI, effective immediately. Mr. Murphy had tendered his resignation earlier this year in conjunction with the company's restructuring which is proceeding on schedule.
