AACC honors 12 scientists.

AACC honors 12 scientists. At its annual meeting in Orlando, FL, in July, the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) honored 12 scientists for their out-standing achievements. They were:

* Lecture Leadership:

Dr. Harvey J. Alter, National Institutes of Health

* Outstanding Contributions to Clinical Chemistry:

Dr. Edward W. Bermes Jr., Loyola University Medical Center

* Outstanding Contributions through Service to the Profession of Clinical Chemistry:

Dr. Roland Valdes Jr., University of Louisville

* Outstanding Contributions in Education:

Dr. Robert H. Christenson, University of Maryland School of Medicine

* Outstanding Contributions to Clinical Chemistry in a Selected Area of Research:

Dr. David B. Sacks, Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital

* Young Investigator:

Dr. Liu-Ying Luo, R & D Systems

* International Travel Fellowship:

Dr. K-T Jerry Yeo, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Dartmouth Medical School

* Outstanding Contribution for a Publication in the Clinical Chemistry Journal:
