AAAE 2006/7 executives named.

The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) has announced that Elaine Roberts, AAE, President & CEO of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, will serve as its national chair on the executive committee for the 2006/7 term.

Roberts was named President & CEO of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority after its creation in January 2003. Prior to that, she served as Executive Director of the Columbus Airport Authority. Roberts becomes the AAAE's first vice chair after serving as secretary/ treasurer on the executive committee for the 2004/5 term. In addition to serving as an Experience Columbus Board member, she sits on the Boards of the Airports Council International, Columbus Chamber, Advanced Logistics Council, and many other Columbus area organizations.

"We are grateful for the years of service Elaine has already generously given to the association," said AAAE President Charles Barclay at the association's annual gathering in San Diego during April. Adding: "She brings a level of experience and expertise to the robe of AAAE chair which is critical as the aviation industry continues to face one of its most challenging periods in its history. We look forward to her leadership and we appreciate her dedication."

The association also announced that Lowell Pratte, AAE, Deputy Executive Director of Louisville International Airport, and national chair for the 2005/6 term will become first past chair. Krys Bart, AAE, Executive Director at the Reno/Tahoe International airport will become the first vice chair, and Jim Elwood, AAE, Airport Director at Aspen/Pitkin County Airport will become second vice chair. Bill Barkhauer, AAE, Airport Director at Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey will remain on the AAAE executive committee as second past chair for the 2006/7 term.
