AAA PREPARES TRIPTIK ROUTING FOR INAUGURAL BUS JOURNEY

ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Automobile Association has prepared a special, commemorative Triptik routing illustrating the inaugural bus journey President-elect Bill Clinton and Vice President-elect Al Gore will make Sunday (Jan. 17) from Charlotesville, Va. to Washington, D.C.
The inaugural Triptik routing features a cover embossed with the inaugural seal, a frontispiece illustrating sites along the route and six vignettes describing the inaugural tour. Complimentary copies of the president-elect's Triptik package will be provided to participants in the bus trip.
"During the presidential campaign America's roads and highways became a unique symbol of Bill Clinton's vision for America," said AAA president Paul R. Verkuil. "AAA has prepared this Triptik to commemorate the spirit of hope and expectation Americans feel at the inauguration of a new president."
The inaugural Triptik routing includes a set of detailed strip maps highlighting the roads and president-elect will travel. The Triptik -- which is spiral bound and can be held in one hand -- includes driving times, mileage, points of interest and current highway conditions. AAA annually prepares nearly eight million Triptiks free for members.
The president-elect's 121-mile journey starts with a visit to Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson, near Charlottesville, Va. The tour then travels along U.S. Route 29 -- approximately the road Jefferson took on his way to Washington, D.C.
A stop at the Culpeper Baptist Church is planned later in the day in Culpeper, Va. Afterwards, the tour proceeds along Interstate 66 from Gainesville, Va., to the Lincoln Memorial -- sight of the inaugural celebration "America's Reunion."
AAA is a not-for-profit federation of 139 motor clubs with more than 1,000 offices providing 34 million members in the United States and Canada with travel, insurance, financial and auto-related services.
