AAA AWARD MAKES THREE FOR ALL-NEW EIGHTY EIGHT
LANSING, Mich., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The all-new Oldsmobile Eighty

Eight Royale continues to gather awards for its sleek styling, intelligent engineering and advanced safety features. The latest comes from the American Automobile Association (AAA), which said in its AutoTest book that the new Eighty Eight rated highest in its class for the $20,000 to $25,000 price category.
According to the AAA, winners in each class exceeded all others tested by offering the most outstanding combination of design, quality and performance in their price category.
Each vehicle is tested in 16 different categories and assigned points from one to five for each category. Vehicles are tested on a number of different attributes including acceleration, braking, handling, economy, comfort, convenience and workmanship.
The AAA award is the latest in a series for the all-new Eighty Eight Royale family, which was extensively redesigned and re-engineered for the 1992 model year. Motor Trend magazine recently rated the new Eighty Eight Royale one of its 10 best domestic new car buys and Consumers Digest called it one of its "Best Buys" for 1992.
"With its combination of sleek new styling, dramatically improved structure and many safety and convenience features, it's no wonder the new Eighty Eight is capturing so many awards," said Oldsmobile General Manager Mike Losh. "Sales of the new Eighty Eight are up significantly compared to the previous model, so it's clear car buyers recognize its many qualities."
