A4L Gallery Presents Alexis Portilla: Volumes and Incidents.

Mexican-born artist Alexis Portilla's exhibits his 'Volumes and Incidents' as the next installment of A4L Gallery's Internationally themed 2006 exhibition

The opening reception is on June 14, 2006 and the show runs through July 14, 2006

NEW YORK, June 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mexican-born artist Alexis Portilla exhibits his latest works on paper, canvas and mylar in "Volumes and Incidents" at Art4Love, Inc.'s (ALVN.PK) A4L Gallery beginning with an opening reception on June 14, 2006 from 6 to 9PM. The exhibit will continue at A4L Gallery through July 14, 2006.

Portilla is working in oil, acrylic, enamel on canvas, paper, mylar, and wood for the Volumes and Incidents exhibition. He explores atmosphere, color, line, composition as well as the symbol systems of marks that are blatantly more expressive and dense. Portilla feels that, "Either way, my goal is not to focus on one or the other for any particular work but to let the natural development of the piece describe the interplay between the two modes; form and atmosphere being one mode, line and shape being the other."

Born in Mexico City in 1965, Alexis Portilla moved to New York City in 1970. Alexis Portilla was an influential participant in the landmark legal decision that affirmed that the visual arts, as much as the written word, are equally protected rights under the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. His recent shows include an exhibition in Central Hong Kong at the Memory Gallery and a solo show at Chi' Gallery in Brooklyn, NY in 2005.

"This exhibition of Alexis' latest works underscores the commitment A4L Gallery has to its international artists," said Chad Love Lieberman, Founder and CEO of Art4Love. "Art4Love and A4L Gallery will continue to fulfill its mission of bringing the world's most distinguished creative talent to private buyers and dealers in New York as well as to its core architectural clients," added Mr. Lieberman.
