A45 commuters facing tailbacks; Bridge work could take up to six months.
Traffic flow at the A45 Dunchurch Highway junction with Pickford Way - the A4114 Allesley bypass - will be disrupted while engineers strengthen four flyover bridges in the area.
Motorists can expect lane closures on slip roads on and off the dual carriageway and on the roundabout feeding major routes to the city centre via Holyhead Road and Allesley Old Road.Work is expected to start in October.
A Highways Agency spokeswoman said essential strengthening work on the parapets was being planned as well as weather-proofing the road fabric.
The spokeswoman said: "We have to advertise the work as taking up to 26 weeks for legal reasons.
"The order allowing for diversions has to be in place and we have it running for a long period in case there are any delays.
"But the company that is doing the work is being offered a bonus for early completion, so there is a good chance that it will finish ahead of schedule."
