A1 lanes set to be closed.

DRIVERS are warned that resurfacing work on parts of the A1(M) begins this Monday, June 1. The southbound carriageway of the A1(M) between Carrville and Shincliffe will be closed to allow the work to be carried out safely.

The northbound carriageway will run three lanes, with lane two for southbound traffic and the hard shoulder, and lane one for northbound traf-fic. All work will be done between 8pm and 6am and a 50mph speed limit will be in place.

Work to resurface the hard shoulder between junction 63, Blind Lane Interchange, to junction 62, Durham, will take place at the same time. The junction 62 southbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, and reduced to one lane during the day.
