A.T. CROSS NAMES RUSSELL A. BOSS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND JOHN E. BUCKLEY CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

 LINCOLN, R.I., April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Russell A. Boss, 54, president of A.T. Cross Company (AMEX: ATX.A), a leading maker of fine writing instruments, has been named chief executive officer of A.T. Cross, it was announced by Bradford R. Boss, 60, chairman of the board, who relinquished the title. John E. Buckley, 53, executive vice president, was named chief operating officer, succeeding Russell Boss in that position.
 Bradford Boss, who will remain as chairman, said he would continue to be active in A.T. Cross management, devoting his attention principally to corporate policy matters and long-term planning. He had served as chief executive officer since 1979.
 Russell Boss joined A.T. Cross in 1965, as general manager, following graduation from Dartmouth College and service as an officer in the Coast Guard. He became vice president in 1969, executive vice president in 1974 and president in 1979. Mr. Buckley, executive vice president since 1982, came to A.T. Cross as controller in 1976 and was treasurer and chief financial officer from 1977 to 1988.
