 OLDWICK, N.J., April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- A.M. Best Company today


announced has become a supporting sponsor of "The Premium Dollar Today," a cable television series that helps consumers understand insurance issues affecting their everyday lives and make better insurance buying decisions.
 Broadcast on USA Network, which reaches over 58 million households, the program is in its third year of production. Similar in format to other public affairs shows, "The Premium Dollar Today" features prominent insurance industry executives, consumer advocates, regulatory officials and personal financial planners in informal round-table discussions.

"More importantly, the program explains how consumers are impacted by these issues and how they can personally benefit from a better understanding of them."

 "The Premium Dollar Today" is hosted by Herbert E. Goodfriend, a veteran insurance industry analyst and consultant. The half-hour program airs Fridays at 6 a.m. EDT through June. Upcoming topics for the April and May programs include insurance solvency regulation, auto insurance reform, earthquake insurance, small business' insurance needs and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
 "The Premium Dollar Today" is sponsored by Reliance National Risk Specialists, a major property/casualty insurer, with additional sponsorship from the Society of Chartered Property/Casualty Underwriters (CPCU), a professional organization of property/casualty underwriters, and KPMG Peat Marwick, a leading public accounting firm. Business Insurance magazine provides editorial input for the program.
