 A.C. NIELSEN NAMES DAVID LOWDEN VICE PRESIDENT AND CFO
 NORTHBROOK, Ill., July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- David Lowden has been appointed vice president and chief financial officer of Nielsen Marketing Research International, the A.C. Nielsen Company announced today. The appointment is effective immediately.
 Lowden, 34, will report to Frank Polashock, senior vice president, finance, A.C. Nielsen.
 "David will serve as the primary liaison between the corporation and our operations worldwide, using his considerable expertise in financial controls and business analysis. he Nielsen business is increasingly conducted on a global basis and David's expertise will be a tremendous asset."
 Lowden will be traveling extensively between Nielsen offices in 28 countries, the company's headquarters in Northbrook, Ill., and its Customer Coordination Center in Brussels, Belgium.
 Lowden was previously with the Federal Express Corp., which he joined in 1984. Most recently, Lowden served as vice president, international finance for Europe and Africa. Before joining Federal Express, Lowden worked for Norcros PLC and Thomson McLintock.
 Lowden is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland and received his Bachelor of Arts in Business and Administration at the University of Strathclyde, Scotland in 1978. A native of Scotland, Lowden is married and has two sons.
