A-team win Conwy derby to take title.

CONWY A beat the club's B team 4-1 in their final match of the season to clinch division one of the Caernarfonshire & District Bayonet Scratch Winter League and retain their title.

Conwy A won six and halved one of their eight matches for a total of 41 points, the B team inflicting their only defeat back in November.

The B team finished second on 29 points winning five of their seven matches, having not played their outstanding game at Maesdu.

Maesdu, who were promoted from division two at the end of last season, go straight back down again having gleaned just 15 points with two wins in their seven matches.

CAERNARFONSHIRE FINAL Division Conwy B's Lloyd Hughes won the division's individual order of merit with seven wins out of seven.

He finished just a point clear of the A team's Mark Ellison, who won six and halved one of his eight games. Ellison's team mates Ross Davies and James Tottey were on 12 points, Davies having won six out of eight and Tottey six out of Division Holyhead ................... Porthmadog A ........... Holyhead, relegated from division one last season, go straight back up as division two champions, winning five and halving two of their eight matches to finish with 38 points Porthmadog A, who were relegated with them, finished second on 30' points with four wins and a half from eight matches, while Bull Bay, promoted from division three last year, finished third on 25' with four wins and four defeats.

Thirteen-year-old Darren Owen, a regular in the Henllys scratch team despite playing off eight handicap, won the division order of merit with 13 points, on the way winning six and halving one of his eight games.

His team however finished bottom of the division with three wins and five defeats.

Owen finished a point clear of Holyhead's Mark Perdue, who won five and halved two of his eight games with Bull Bay's Jack Carter and Tudor Evans from Nefyn finishing joint third on 10 points, both winning five of their eight games.

North Wales have bounced straight back into division two by winning the third division title having been relegated last season.

The team won eight and halved one of their ten matches for a total of 55 points, eight ahead of runners-up Caernarfon, who won eight and DISTRICT BAYONET TABLES lost two of their matches.
