A-B to curb underage drinking with new ads

Anheuser-Busch is airing a new network television commercial with a strong message geared to a new audience. The message: "Let's stop underage drinking before it starts." The audience: the parents of young children.

The 30-second commercial, titled "Dressing Up," features two young children playing "dress up" to illustrate the point that parents are the most effective role models for children and urges parents to call 1-800-359-TALK to receive "Family Talk About Drinking" materials. The program is driven by the grassroots network of Anheuser-Busch wholesalers, and has been supported in print since March.

"Our goal with `Family Talk' is to help in the effort to stop underage drinking before it starts ... and we are working toward that goal by providing this program to as many parents as possible," said Stephen Burrows, Anheuser-Busch vice president of consumer awareness and education.
