A-B Natural Pilsner introduced.

Natural Pilsner, a new beer brand from Anheuser-Busch, has been introduced into the state of Hawaii. According to the brewer, it is a companion brand to the company's Natural Light.

"Natural Pilsner is the full-bodied complement to Natural Light--the nation's fastest growing sub-premium priced light beer," said Brian Porter, senior brand manager for Natural Light.

Porter said that Natural Light, introduced in 1977, has experienced continual sales increases. For the past nine years, Porter says, the brand has chalked up double-digit growth each year, and now ranks as the fastest-growing top-10 brand in the country.

In addition to Hawaii, Natural Pilsner is currently available in Arizona, California, Nevada, Ohio and Texas.

The brewery reported that Natural Pilsner is brewed using only natural ingredients, including hop blossoms, yeast, barley malt and cereal grains. "The exact ratio of ingredients, the brewing recipes and finishing processes for all our beer brands are selected by our brewmasters to achieve the best balance of characteristics to give each brand a distinctive taste," said Klaus Zastrow, Anheuser-Busch brewmaster, and vice-president, brewing technical services.

"The process by which we brew pilsner produces a lighter flavor with a pleasant aroma," Zastrow continued, "and hops play a major part in this aroma. We carefully select our hops and hand-blend the natural blossom into the brew kettle. In the case of Natural Pilsner, we have selected varieties of hops particularly suited to the beer."
