A woman of passion on stage.

The Cyprus Theatre Organisation (Thoc) has already begun to entertain children this year with the show Sofia the Bee, and now it is getting ready to bring adults into the theatre with the first drama of the year Stella with the Red Gloves.

The play, which will begin its run on Saturday, presents Stella who is seen to be a misfit in society. She is a woman who is out of place, she does not fit in with the customs of her era and she has too much passion for her own good. Stella, in this play by Iakovos Kampanellis, is like a wild animal who cannot be caged. And like an animal, she gives up to passion, she chooses to go down a path that she knows will lead to heartache rather than choosing an existence of fake happiness.

Stella is so against this fake way of being that she says "I fall as a blind person, I give everything, I believe them, while they begin to think about how they can change me and make me someone else. No, my dears, I do not trick anyone, they fool me."
