A week for us to come together MY CITY.

LIVERPOOL Kinship Carers has been running for 16 years. We support families who are looking after children who can't live with their birth parents for a variety of reasons.

We offer emotional support, advice on legal matters, inter-generational family activities - and, during school holidays we provide days out for the children. Also, we run coffee mornings and have a lovely pamper day for the carers to recharge their batteries on the first Friday in every month.

It's National Kinship Carers Week next week, and we are celebrating by hosting various events in Ellergreen Children's Centre, Ellergreen Road, Norris Green.

Please come along to any of our events: Monday - Coffee morning, 10am-12pm. Tuesday: Networking event, 10am-2pm. Wednesday: Inter-generational themed party, 6pm- 8pm. Thursday - Local authority post order team surgery around Special Guardianship Order, 10am-12pm. Friday: High tea celebration for families, with entertainment, 12pm-4pm.

Leading up to these events, we will be attending local schools and projects to raise awareness of Kinship Carers and asking them to join in by doing their bit to raise awareness - perhaps speak in a team meeting, with colleagues, in schools and by giving out leaflets to children to take home.

We have had a great response, with many groups joining in - and we hope to gain a lot more.

If anyone wants to get involved, needs advice or is looking after a child, please feel free to come along.
