A team of apprentices and trainees from construction firm Mansell have been getting their hands dirty cleaning up a school pond.

The pond, at the Wordsley School near Stourbridge had become overgrown and full up with rubbish. So as part of the Black Country Challenge, the team of volunteers from Mansell's Stourbridge-based Western Region got to work cleaning it out.

The Mansell team spent a day at the school, clearing the pond so that wildlife can flourish. Following the clean-up the school plans to erect a fence around the pond area, to make it a more pleasant environment. Linda Parry from The Wordsley School said: "We really appreciate the work the team has done on the pond."
