A taste of Gazza.
"I can only have him in small spurts. I'll see him this afternoon and that'll do me for six months. Then he starts driving me mental," said the ex-Liverpool and Tottenham defender.
Alan Shearer had his own special memories of Gazza. Recalling the time the England team was `preparing' for Euro 96 by getting rotten drunk in a dentist's chair in Hong Kong, the Magpies skipper said he was gutted he had missed "one hell of a party".
Shearer was entertaining men in suits when he got the call from Gazza to join him in the Banana Club. When he got there he found Gazza, Teddy Sheringham and Robbie Fowler the worse for wear. "I thought to myself `what have I missed here?'. I saw three fantastic birds beside him. I knew I'd missed a party," Shearer told the audience at Gazza's Variety Club bash.
