Oxford Wessex Archaeology
This book summarizes the findings of an archaeological study of England's Essex County, particularly the section of the A120 between Stansted Airport and Braintree, conducted between 2000 and 2003. Six chapters supported by figures and color plates discuss evidence of prehistoric farming communities, significant in situ evidence of late Iron Age and Roman-age activity, the apparent lack of Anglo-Saxon settlement, and medieval and post-medieval sites. The authors were involved in the study. The accompanying CDROM contains discussions of fieldwork methodology and the study of specific materials. This book is distributed in North America by The David Brown Book Co.
