A crippled national woman was in for a pleasant surprise.

Lt General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior walked into her hospital room along with his three children, Shaikha Moza, Shaikh Zayed and Shaikh Khalifa.

The 25-year-old Yosra Yasir Al Hatali, who suffers from muscular dystrophy (a disease that weakens the musculoskeletal system and hampers locomotion) had written to Shaikh Saif expressing her long-cherished wish to meet him.

Since the last several years, Yosra has been admiring Shaikh Saif in his efforts to serve the nation through his innovative activities. She even used to cut out news stories related to his activities and file them as an expression of her awe and respect, said her father Yasir Al Hatali.

Unable to speak out her joy, Yosra spelt out her gratitude to Shaikh Saif on her laptop computer and then struggled to breath.

Yosra is on a life support system at the hospital.

Shaikha Moza offered a bunch of flowers to Yosra, who smiled through her tears.
