A pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by a car in Brynmawr has died; The pedestrian suffered "serious injuries" on Sunday but later died.

A pedestrian who was left with serious injuries after being hit by a car has died.

On Sunday it was reported that the pedestrian suffered "serious" injuries after the incidentshortly before 2.30pmin Market Square, Brynmawr.

Gwent Policehas now confirmed the person died from their injuries.

The pedestrian's family are being supported by specialist officers.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, but has now been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Investigations are ongoing andGwent Policehas asked anyone with information or dashcam footage to get in touch.
