A matter of value: Edward F. Neild III and Oaks Realty, Inc..

Real estate is about value. The value of a property to your heart as much as its value in dollars and cents. To real estate broker and developer Edward F. Neild III, The Oaks in Sarasota is one of the best values in real estate that he has ever seen. Involved in all areas of real estate investment, development and finance for many years, Neild believes The Oaks has huge potential and a great future.

"I was an investment banker for a long time, and you learn early on that you never buy what you don't think you can sell at a profit," he says. "In my opinion, The Oaks is an incredible value. The land will surely appreciate. I haven't seen any comparable value in Florida."

Neild is a seasoned veteran in many investment areas. A former director and chairman of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, member of all major stock and futures exchanges and a former registered broker dealer with the SEC, he has more than 30 years experience in sophisticated corporate and residential real estate and financial markets across the country.

Neild liked The Oaks so much that he moved here in 1989 after friends took him to lunch at the The Oaks Club and showed him around the development. He soon became Michael Saunders & Company's top producer and Sarasota County's record holder for sales, with more than $25 million in closed production in 1992.

Neild ended up acquiring more than 27 Oaks properties, including the 20-suite guest lodge, which has been beautifully restored and converted into condominiums for luxury guest accommodations. He finances and markets in The Oaks, and recently left Michael Saunders & Company to form his own on-site real estate company, Oaks Realty, Inc., which exclusively markets luxury properties in The Oaks community.

"All associates with the firm live in The Oaks," Neild says, "and all are dedicated to the future of the community in a way that only residents can be. We eat, sleep and breathe The Oaks, and can explain all facets of the lifestyle at The Oaks."

The Oaks is an exclusive country club community of more than 1,000 acres located between Sarasota and Venice, and contains some of the most beautiful homes and homesites in the county. Unique for its fabulous equity membership, clubhouse and amenities, it has three separate enclaves. Oaks I on the west side encompasses great natural beauty along Sarasota Bay; Oaks II on the east side features the golf course, clubhouse, tennis and swim club, and Windsor Lodge; and the Oaks Preserve is an exciting addition of exclusive, maintenance-free manor court homes and luxury townhouse condominiums with a price range of $249,000 to $389,000 surrounded by beautiful preservation areas. Lots in Oaks I and II begin at $95,000 and builder homes begin at $400,000, including lot.

Neild negotiated the sale of the west side of The Oaks last year in one of the largest residential real estate transactions in the history of Sarasota County.

The more Neild works with The Oaks, the more enthusiastic he becomes. "This development is unique to the west coast of Florida," he says. "It is one of the best neighborhoods I have ever found anywhere. People who want privacy, security and value will find it here. As the former developer used to say, 'The Oaks is a truly limited edition.' Most important to me, The Oaks is home."
