A lifetime of learning: ADAA's commitment to furthering members' education.
It is that time of year again, when we begin to think about new school clothes, school supplies, hair cuts and everything else that goes along with going back to school. We begin to think about getting back on a daily schedule and putting the lazy days of summer behind us.
As we move forward into fall and the last part of 2010, may I suggest getting back on a continuing education schedule as well?
For some of you, dental assisting continuing education is ongoing, due to requirements of your state or DANB. For others, it is because you are working on your ADAA fellowship or mastership. For some, you just love learning. I commend all of you, whatever your reason may be, for continuing to learn and for continuing to enhance your career as a dental assistant.
Did you know ADAA is your best resource to purchase continuing education? We are an association that has built its reputation on education, efficiency and loyalty. Our education library has more than 50 courses to choose from. We have courses ranging from 1 CEU to 24 CEUs. All of our courses are approved by the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) Program Approval for Continuing Education (PACE). As a member, you will get a discounted price on the purchase of any ADAA CE. I ask you, why go any where else to get your mandatory or desired continuing education?
Did you know that as an added benefit to our members, starting in 2010, when you renew your dues you will get four hours of free CE included with your dues? Just look for your validation code included with your new card and log on at www.adaa1.com to pick your four free hours. Simple as that!
Speaking of free education, active ADAA members can take advantage of the CE courses featured in the Journal three times each year. In this issue, you will find our second annual free CE course entitled, "Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen Sedation: An Update,' created by Ann Brunick, RDH, MS & Morris Clark, DDS, FACD (page 22). This course will increase your knowledge about using nitrous oxide with patients. Please take advantage of this course--a free benefit for active ADAA members--by reading it and logging in at ADAA's CE website, www.adaa1.com. Test results will be available immediately upon taking the course exam online. Again, all at no charge to you, the active ADAA member. Also included in the issue will be a list of our new and updated courses (page 36-37).
Please join us in promoting the very best of continuing education geared toward dental assistants and administrative assistants of all levels.
It's back to school for all of us! Enjoy!
