A guide to fibers for nonwovens.

A GUIDE TO FIBERS FOR NONWOVENS a special annual section detailing the fibers available to nonwovens roll goods manufacturers from U.S., European and Japanese suppliers

Compiled By The Nonwovens Industry Staff This Fourth Annual Guide To Fibers For Nonwovens is the only comprehensive listing of fibers from most of the major suppliers to the nonwovens industry. It represents an ambitious attempt by Nonwovens Industry to put all in one place the information needed by our readers, the users of these fibers. It deals exclusively with our industry; general purpose fibers not designed for the manufacture of nonwovens are not included.

There are some significant changes in this year's Guide from the 1988 issue. A number of companies--among them Hoechst Celanese, Phillips Fibers, Eastman Chemical and DuPont--have either revised their product lines or expanded their nonwovens fiber offerings. That is reflected for the first time ever on the following pages.

All fibers are listed by company. The fiber type, trade name, denier, cut length (inches or millimeters), breaking/elongation (%), specific gravity and tensile strength (grams per denier) are listed in most cases. Some of the specialty fibers required their own categories; these are marked at the top of each column as they occur. The properties of and end uses for the products, as explained by the fiber companies, are supplied as well. In addition, the addresses and phone numbers are included; the individual companies should be contacted for further information on any of the fibers listed.

Keep this Guide To Fibers For Nonwovens handy year-round. It is the only listing of its kind specially designed for the nonwovens industry.
