A greenhouse unit expands a bath.

A ready-made greenhouse unit expands this small bath and creates a sunlit spot for bathers and plants. The 4- by 8-foot extension has its own perimeter foundation and ties into the back wall of Susan and William Nye's ranch-style home.

From the inside, the opening to the deep whirlpool tub is only 60 inches wide. The view of the tub is partially obscured by a short wing wall that houses the water spout and a shower head. When the shower is running, the wall minimizes water bounce into the vanity area.
