A great player; MAILBAG.

IT was sad to read about the death of Ollie Conmy in our local paper.

I have not seen him play for Huddersfield as I am not old enough but when I mentioned him as one of my favourite Peterborough United players, ex-Town footballer Ken Ogden told me about him in his playing days in a Town shirt.

I once watched him at Boundary PARK in the late 1960s as I am a Peterborough United fan and, along with FRANK RanKmore, I remember him being the best player on the PARK.

He was one of the best players to wear a Number 8 Posh shirt and had he stayed on at Huddersfield he would have done them proud as well. He was very fast down the wing and a good crosser of the ball.

He did credit both to Town and Posh. Bill ShanKly rated him so that is, indeed, an honour.
