A grave situation; ON THE BOX.
Revelations: Talking to the Dead C4, Sun
THERE was something unsettling about the revelations in this candid documentary.
But it wasn't the supposed communication from beyond the grave that the various spiritualist followers took succour from which gave me the heeby jeebies.
Instead, it was the way the focus lingered uncomfortably on those whose behaviours seemed to be symptomatic of something more troubling than just a belief in conversations from beyond the crematorium.
Richard Alwyn's hour-long documentary included an apparent message from his late grandfather and anecdotal suggestions that faith healing cured his back problems.
Whether true or not, those admissions felt like an excuse to linger longer than was necessary on the others, whose claims of voices from beyond the grave have led to them being marginalised.
Clearly, these people need specialised levels of care. Not a TV crew with an agenda.
And it doesn't take a psychic to see that.
