A fishy proposition.

A Fishy Proposition

Arkansas native Bill Gregg has been keeping Little Rock's hottest marketing plan under wraps the last 10 months for fear competitors might sniff out the secret of his success.

The one-time ad agency employee is making waves nationally with Ozark Trout Co., which offers a one-pound, smoked, ready-to-eat trout. Gregg has been pushing his fish through ads in the New Yorker, Southern Living and other magazines and says business is fabulous.

Gregg's product is grown in Idaho, then shipped to Little Rock where individual orders are sent from a warehouse at 1200 Barrow Road.

"The 80's was the chicken decade," says Gregg, who test-marketed the product in fish-conscious Southern California. "The 90's will be the fish decade. This is a very healthy product."
