A fantastic education; YOUR LETTERS TO THE NATIONAL NEWSPAPER OF WALES & COMMENT DEBATE.

* SIR - Cardiff-born Michael Moritz has done well to be able to donate a magnanimous pounds 75m to Oxford University to support the education of bright teenagers from deprived backgrounds.

This is well acknowledged by Oxford's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Andrew Hamilton in a statement mentioning "a concern about the size of loans that will be accrued to attend Oxford, or indeed, other universities".

Yes indeed, a fantastic education is also available elsewhere, and here in Wales as did billionaire Sir Terry Matthews at Newport and on to Swansea University, from where he graduated in 1969.

Certainly Cardiff University established me in the world at large.
