A cottage industry.

This refers to the two letters published on May 22 from the Al Meroouge Dairy public relations office and Mr Crompton.

First, I express my deepest thanks to you both for such in-depth information.

I was very happy to learn that Al Meroouge is planning to open outlets throughout Bahrain.

The one in West Riffa is too far away for me, so that was very good news.

It was also great to learn from Mr Crompton that in three months, the product will be manufactured again.

I didn't know the production site has been redeveloped for three months, and will take another three to complete.

I am sure the public didn't know either, and we were just wondering about the disappearance of the cheese.

However, when reading Mr Crompton's explanation and comparing it to my research, I learned that Al Meroouge is now only selling its salt and fat-free cottage cheese at its outlet in West Riffa - the Al Meroouge Bakery. I was not given the reason why it is not distributed any longer to the supermarket in question.

The bakery is near the Old Riffa Mall and Mothercare and sells the cheese in 210gram containers each costing 600 fils. This is for the public to know, in case some customers are living nearby.
