Liebeck (pure mathematics, Imperial College London) revises again his textbook for an undergraduate course of one or two semesters. He begins at a pretty basic level so that students with less proficiency are not lost from the beginning . For the third edition he has added three chapters at the end introducing mathematical analysis, and solutions to all the odd-numbered exercises. Among his topics are sets and proofs, polynomial equations, prime factorization, equivalence relations, and infinity. No dates are cited for earlier editions.
