A big deal to roll out new animation courses.
The course is aimed at addressing the growing shortage of skilled animation professionals in the country.
With movies such as the Madagascar series and Kung Fu Panda, turning out to be blockbusters, animation industry is fast becoming a lucrative destination for students.
The three- year programmes, Bach- elor of Science in Digital Animation Film Making, which will expose students to the secrets of animation through the art of storytelling and Bachelor of Science Programme in Digital VFX Film Making, will be available at its centres across the country including Delhi. Candidates who have cleared their class XII examination can apply. The memorandum of understanding ( MoU) for the courses was signed by Ashish S. Kulkarni, Chief Executive Officer of Reliance Animation, and Ashok Mittal, Vice- Chancellor of LPU. " There is a need for the right kind of curriculum in animation so that it isn't just looked as a voctaional training course," said Kulkarni. " This is why we started BIG AIMS," he said. The courses will be available for students across the country through authorised BIG AIMS learning centres.
The LPU Vice- Chancellor emphasised the need to join hands with the industry since they are the ones who provide jobs to the students.
