A THUMBS UP FOR TEACHERS; Binley Woods is tops at tag rugby and footy PUPILS GIVE THEIR VERDICT.

THE tag rugby and football teams at Binley Woods Primary School are the best of any primary school in and around Rugby.

Both teams won the Rugby inter school contests this year.

The tag rugby team didn't lose a single match. The football team had a harder fight but won through to take the Spring cup. The school won three goals to two in an exciting match against Eastlands Primary School cheered on by parents and teachers.

The school also reached the finals in Rugby wide school contests in a range of other sports including netball, tennis and indoor athletics.

Thanks to the large grounds and woodland behind them the school regularly plays host to inter school cross country running competitions.

Head teacher Mike Grange said: "We're a small school with one form of entry (one class in each year), and we were against bigger schools with two forms of entry, so we were particularly pleased to win."

I THINK it must be one of the sportiest schools there is. We won the Spring cup in football and we won the schools' tag rugby as well.

We've got very big sports fields.

Taylor Leonard, 11

ALL THE teachers are really nice. If we are struggling to understand something, we know we can ask them for help. If we do really well at something they give us a house point.

Sally Thomson, 11

ALL THE teachers are really fun and they can always make a joke. Art is my favourite lesson. We've been doing things with compasses in art.

Josh Oldham, nine

I LIKE all the lessons. I particularly like making things in art and in design and technology.

Holly Boneham, nine

I LIKE the teachers. They understand us and if we have a question or need help we can always ask them.

Katie Edwards, 10

WE DO loads of things for charity. Today we're doing a sponsored skip for a heart charity. We go on quite a lot of trips. It's really good to be a pupil here.

Elliot Walker, 10

I LIKE going on school trips.

We went to the Harris School and played in a football tournament. We won and we got medals.

Luke Dodd, eight

I LIKE going in the tyre park. We jump around and play games like tag.

Cara Stuckey, eight
