A Saudi Defendant, Accused of Committing Different Crimes, Sentenced to Imprisonment.
Riyadh, Safar 18, 1436, December 10, 2014, SPA -- A Saudi Defendant, accused of committing different crimes, received today an initial sentence of 27 years in prison, subject to appeal.
He faces several accusations, including travel to civil war-hit and dispute-stricken areas, particularly Afghanistan and Yemen, to take part in fighting there without permission, paying and receiving money to assist people who express wish to take part in the fighting, negligence of their national identification cards and other crimes, providing training to terror cells in Yemen, and appearing in social networks attacking the country and its leaders.
He was also given 30 days to appeal.
