A Mod-ern take on high street fashion; NEWS IN BRIEF.

A NEW shop has opened in Blackwood High Street, making it a must-place to shop for the fashion-conscious Mod brigade.

The town is already home to the influential Barkers store and Zaks clothing outlet, and now, a new fashion store has opened called Carnaby Street. The shop sells clothing and accessories inspired by the Mod movement.

Andrew Highway, Caerphilly County Borough Council town centre development manager, welcomed the new shop.

"Carnaby Street is a destination store which will bring even more people into Blackwood town centre," he said.

"We hope that, once there, they will discover the host of other fantastic independent retailers the town has to offer."
