99 degrees conferred at FAST-NUCES Peshawar Convocation.

PESHAWAR -- The 41st convocation ceremony of FAST-National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences was held on Saturday here at Campus to commemorate the accomplishments of its students.

As many as 99 graduates were awarded degrees belonging to Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Business Administration disciplines.

The convocation was attended by a large number of corporate luminaries, leading academicians, elite intellectuals and proud parents accompanying the students.

The chief guest, Minister for Education, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mohammad Atif and the Rector of FAST National University Dr Amir Mohammad distributed medals and degrees among graduating students.

In his convocation address, the chief guest congratulated the graduates and their proud parents.

He praised FAST-NUCES for having won a prestigious niche among the leading universities of Pakistan by providing and promoting higher education amid challenges in the area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Minister Mohammad Atif encouraged the graduating students to work hard and show devotion in helping their dear homeland prosper. He further emphasized the role these students can play in solving the prevailing issues such as poverty, illiteracy and dearth of technological advancement.

Mohammad Atif acknowledged the support and contribution of FAST Board of Governors, alumni, corporate leaders, philanthropists, faculty, staff and students in the realization of a shared vision and urged for the continuance of quality education at FAST University Peshawar Campus.

Before a packed house of students, parents and faculty members, the

Director Campus Dr. Tariq Rahim apprised the audience about the university's progress, achievements, the quality standards and vision which differentiate it from other seats of higher education in Pakistan and make it unique and one of the best universities.

He said that convocation is more than just a formal ceremony for conferral of degrees: it is the recognition of a long standing tradition, whereby the university and all its stakeholders applaud the achievements of students.

The director expressed his high hopes of the passing out students of the university and expressed his faith in the success awaiting such conscientious and talented students.

Out of the 99 graduating students, 55 were awarded degrees in (BS) Electrical Engineering, 29 in (BS) Computer Science and 4 in Business Administration (BBA). Moreover, 5 MS Computer Science scholars, 5 MS Electrical Engineering Scholars and 1 PhD scholar Mr. Murtaza Mathematics received degrees.

The Department of Electrical Engineering awarded Mr Uzair Javaid with Gold Medal, Ahmed Abdullah with Silver Medal, and Mohammad Usama with Bronze medal. In the FAST School of Management BBA Honors Program, the Gold Medal and Silver Medals were awarded to Zarmin Tayyab and Sara Jalali respectively.

Whereas, Amin Ullah secured Gold Medal, Kaleem Nawaz Khan Silver Medal and Zafar Iqbal secured Bronze in the BS Computer Science program. Likewise, Komal Saif Ullah Khan, Muneeb Sohail and Yasar Abbas Ur Rehman were awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively in the MS Electrical Engineering program.
