92?YEAR?OLD TERRORISED IN HER OWN HOME; OAP woken by raiders who rip jewellery from around her neck Burglary terror for woman, 92.
A 92-YEAR-OLD woman was terrorised by two burglars who forced their way into her Coventry home during the middle of the night.
She woke in the early hours and heard noises at her house, in Peel Street, Foleshill. When she went to investigate the two men grabbed her, snatching two gold necklaces from her, police said.
They also tried to remove bangles from her wrist but failed in the attempt.
The two men then fled from the house with the jewellery, plus watches and cash they had found.
They grabbed a pink towel from the property to hide their faces as they escaped - leaving their elderly victim "very shaken" according to police.
Det Con Lee Buckler, the officer investigating the robbery, said: "Fortunately, the victim was not physically injured during the attack but she has understandably been very shaken by what happened. "I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the men either entering or fleeing the property, or who may have recently been offered similar jewellery or watches for sale, to contact police."
It is believed the pair got into the house through a front window in the early hours of last Friday. Anyone who may have information regarding the incident or the stolen jewellery should contact Dc Buckler at Willenhall police station on 024 7653 9420 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
