9-2 Dobromyslova set to bring down wobbly Welshman.

Byline: Steve Davies

SHE'S the darling of the oche and after making a piece of arrers history it's worth chancing that Anastasia Dobromyslova can complete the double in Wolverhampton this evening.

The foxy Russian arrowsmith brought the house down and left poor Vincent van de Voort feeling red-faced after she toppled the towering Dutchman on Sunday night.

Now she's got her sights on Mark Webster, a player whose form is suspect and temperament is even flakier.

Arrers fans may well remember Webster making a pig's ear of trying to see off class clown Glenn Moody at the Lakeside almost two years ago.

The occasion got to the young Welshman, the opponent got to him, the crowd got to him. And back then he was in good form.

Webster has gone to Wolverhampton in no sort of nick and now he's under massive pressure against Dobromyslova, who is a best-priced 9-2 chance with a few firms to take out the former BDO world champ in this Group A showdown.

Dobromyslova produced a better average against Van der Voort on Sunday than Webster did against Taylor - and averages against The Power are normally inflated because there are so few messy legs.

The last round of the roundrobin phase last year was overshadowed by carve-up theories over the duel between BDO buddies Darryl Fitton and Gary Anderson, but 12 months on there is no obvious scope for conspiracy in the denouement to Groups A to D. Indeed, there is a double incentive for Tony O'Shea and Colin Lloyd in Group B. Not only does the winner guarantee his progress but he will also swerve Phil Taylor in the last 16.

Among the winner-takes-all showdowns are the Group C clash between Steve Maish and Kirk Shepherd.

Both men have beaten Fitton and lost to Mervyn King, but the in-form Maish is clearly playing better and he should be nearer the 8-13 being put up by Blue Square and Victor Chandler than the 8-11 on offer from Betfred and Ladbrokes.
