Cebu City - Nine minors, aged 8 to 15, were rescued from a gang group called "fam" last Good Friday and Black Saturday at Veterans Drive Apas Lahug Cebu City.

The barangay Captain of Apas, Ramil Ayuma, talked to the alleged leader of Tyson Fam (gang's name) and found out that the new members were about to undergo initiation rites using the two paddles that were confiscated during the rescue operation.

The gang leader also revealed that girl-recruits are made to have sex with other members as part of the initiation rites.

The 18-year-old alleged leader of the fam gang confessed that they were part of the other fam gangs that are operating in Mandaue City and Lapulapu City.

The strong smell of marijuana in the three makeshift huts was observed by the barangay tanods who said that and one of the members allegedly admitted that they smoked marijuana.

Ayuman said that they are aware of the opevrations of the "Fam Gang," which was one of the reasons they intensified the curfew ordinance in their barangay.
