879 beggars held in Capital during current month.

ISLAMABAD -- Islamabad Police have arrested 879 beggars during the current month and also launched legal process against professional alm-seekers and their handlers.

On the directive of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Islamabad, Sajid Kiani, Islamabad police have launched special campaign to curb this curse.

Following these directions, during the month of October, Islamabad arrested a total 879 beggars that include 364 men, 205 women, 27 children and 280 teenaged girls.

Islamabad police shifted 170 beggars men, 87 women, 16 children and 280 teenaged girls to Edhi Home and 11 children were sent to Child Protection Centre for their proper upbringing while police have registered cases against 315 male and 121 women professional alm-seekers.
