EIGHT warships from seven countries paraded in the Arabian Sea, making a majestic spectacle on Monday.

The warships from USA, France, UK, Italy, India, Morocco and Pakistan have arrived in Doha to take part in the 7th Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition Conference 2016 (Dimdex 2016), which is set to open at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) on Tuesday.

The state-of-the-art warships started arriving at Doha Port early on Monday. Before being docked one behind the other alongside the port jetty, the ships offered a thrilling view to the spectators.

First to arrive at the port was the Moroccan beauty combat-class ship called 'Allal Ben Abdellah' followed by two warships from Pakistan. One of the two Pakistani ships was PNS Dehshet, a frigate-class warship made in Karachi Naval Dockyard of Pakistan.

Next to appear on the horizon was the French frigate Aconit, which entered Doha Port and was moored behind the Pakistani warship. The ship has a big French tricolour fluttering at its astern.

This was followed by the entry of indigenously made Indian frigate INS Beas and other warships from Italy, the UK and USA.

Organised visits to the warships are a popular component of Dimdex.
