72 vet camps set up to vaccinate livestock.
HYDERABAD -- Director General Livestock Sindh Akbar Soomro informed here on Friday that a total of 72 veterinary camps have been established in all district of the province to carry out livestock vaccination in order to save them from contagious diseases.
In these veterinary camps, he said vaccines are available for one million animals and these camps are functioning at full pace in Kashmore, Kandhkot, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Larkana, Naushehro Feroze and Matiari districts and vaccination in Hyderabad, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal
and other districts of the province will start soon.
According to Animal Census 2006, he said 47 million big and small animals were in Sindh and the number of animals is increasing by 2 and 3 percent every year. The provincial livestock department is making all-out efforts to conduct proper vaccination of the animals and save them from contagious diseases, he added.
He informed that a control room has been set up in the officer of the Director Animal Husbandry Hyderabad to monitor the vaccination campaign launched by the department in all districts of the province.
