7 facts about Brad Pitt.

1 HE was born on December 18, 1963, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, the son of Jane Etta (nee Hillhouse), a high school counsellor, and William Alvin Pitt, a truck company owner 2 BRAD'S appearance as thief J.D, in Ridley Scott's iconic Oscarwinning movie Thelma and Louise (1991), instantly turned him into a household name.

3 THE versatile star put on a questionable accent to play Irish traveller Mickey O'Neil in Guy Ritchie's British thriller Snatch (2000).

4 DURING the filming of Se7en Brad broke his arm. Instead of delaying the filming the director had the injury written into the script.

5 BRAD has a flying licence which is for flying single engine planes. Fiancee Angelina Jolie got her pilot's licence in 2005.

6 DIRECTOR Tim Burton considered him for the lead in both Sleepy Hollow and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Both roles went to Johnny Depp instead.

7 BRAD originally auditioned for the leading role in the cult film Heathers but the producers thought he was too wholesome and the role instead went to Christian Slater.
